ECF Series
ECF Series Common Mode Chokes — Introduction & Applications
1. ECF Series Wire-Wound Common Mode Chokes (SMD)
The ECF series is a family of surface-mount wire-wound common mode chokes with AEC-Q200D certification, designed for high-temperature automotive and industrial environments. Operating from −40°C to +125°C, they offer excellent common mode noise suppression at high frequencies and superior EMC characteristics.
| Parameter | Typical Value |
|---|---|
| Package | SMD-4P, 4.5 × 3.2 mm (1812) |
| Operating Temperature | −40°C to +125°C |
| Inductance Range | 11 μH to 200 μH |
| Impedance Range | 300 Ω to 15,000 Ω |
| Rated Voltage | 50 V DC |
| Rated Current | 100–250 mA |
| Certification | AEC-Q200D |
Applications: Automotive powertrain and safety equipment, industrial control boards, power supply lines, data transmission cables, and any application where signal integrity and common mode noise rejection are critical.
2. ECF1 / ECF3 Line-Derivation EMC Filters for Industrial Drives
The ECF1 (single-phase) and ECF3 (three-phase) series are EMC filters designed specifically for industrial inverters and converters. Unlike conventional EMI filters, they are derived from the supply line rather than connected in series, meaning they do not carry the drive input current. This allows one filter type to serve all drive sizes.
- ECF1: 400 V ±10%, max leakage current 218 mA rms
- ECF3: 500 V ±10%, max leakage current 155 mA rms
- Protection: IP20, max operating temperature 50°C
- Installation: Derived between choke and line switch; max 50 cm connection length
Applications: VFDs, motor drives, industrial inverters and converters, elevators, HVAC systems, and multi-drive installations requiring centralized EMI filtering.
